It was nearly 25 years ago when Jay Behr came to T-102 and The Super Saturday Morning Show (SSMS) was born. “It just happened” says Jay Behr in explaining how it came to be. "DJ’s just came into the control room with funny material and we started to interact with each other on the air. The chemistry was phenomenal! Character after character and segment upon segment was created. In the end SSMS was born”.
Over the years Jay has worked with a number of cast partners, however Dr Jim Smith and JZ have been a part of SSMS for the longest…almost 20 years. THE BEST SONGS ON THE RADIO
Jay Behr has been on the radio for the last 35 years. His love for radio began as a boy while listening to radio DJ legends like Dan Ingram, Harry Harrison, Ron Lundy, George Michael and John “Records” Landecker, who were DJ’s on the country’s “Powerhouse” AM radio stations such as WABC, WFIL, WLS and WKBW. That was during the era in broadcasting when AM radio was king, and the true potential of FM radio was just being discovered.
Having strong ties to family to his birthplace in Schuylkill County, Jay remained in PA and spent his broadcasting career behind the mike in the Delaware, Lehigh, Susquehana and Wyoming Valley radio markets. In 1982 Jay came to T-102 and creating the Super Saturday Morning Show (SSMS). Over the years SSMS has become a Saturday Morning Tradition. Jay has two daughters, and he and his wife reside in the Lehigh Valley.
